FRACTURE
Fracture was the staple fanzine of the UK punk scene back in the late 90s. Free and distributed everywhere, it let everyone know what was going on and connected the underground across the country. When I moved to Cardiff for university and ended up getting to know Monk Dave, one of the editors, and then getting a column in Fracture, it was amazing to suddenly find myself writing for this ‘zine which had been such a lifeline in the small town I grew up in on the outskirts of Birmingham, pointing, as it did, to a whole wide world out there…

This was my first issue. I was all over the thing - my band was reviewed, I had my first column, I was involved in a story within exposing a dodgy record label and was even featured on the fake Kerang-style back cover.
